Wow! The inagural trek of the Upstate VA Hikers kicked off Saturday, March 7 2009, with a trip to Twin Falls in Pickens County, then a hike on the Natural Bridge Trail at Keowee Toxaway State Park. Along the trail, signs of spring were beginning to show, with interesting little yellow flowers I had not previously encountered. I later identified these as "Trout Lillies" The weather was beautiful! We ended the trip with a stop at the Pumpkintown General Store for some awesome hotdogs! We are all looking forward to another outing. Come join us!
